Every lesson on Vortex is a video someone else made. That makes one question more important than any feature: how do we build on creators' work while respecting it? This note describes our practice plainly.
Playback stays on YouTube
Vortex never downloads, re-hosts or re-encodes a video. Lessons play in YouTube's own embedded player, the same player YouTube offers anyone who wants to share a video on their site. The video file, the player and its controls stay YouTube's. When a search result links to a moment, Vortex passes the start second to that player through YouTube's own start parameter; it does not cut or clip the video.
